Spinach Stuffed Pastry

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Spinach Stuffed Pastry—flaky, golden pastry filled with a savory spinach mixture. It’s perfect as an appetizer, snack, or light meal.


🥬 Spinach Stuffed Pastry Recipe

Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 2 cups fresh spinach (or 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese (or use ricotta or cream cheese for a different flavor)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional: a pinch of nutmeg or chili flakes

For the pastry:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought, thawed)

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)


🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the filling:

    • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

    • Sauté onion until soft and translucent (about 3–4 minutes).

    • Add garlic, cook for 1 minute.

    • Stir in spinach and cook until wilted (if using fresh). Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.

    • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

    • Stir in crumbled feta cheese.

  3. Assemble the pastries:

    • Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into squares or rectangles (about 3×3 inches).

    • Place a spoonful of the spinach filling in the center of each square.

    • Fold into triangles or rectangles and seal the edges with a fork.

    • Brush the tops with beaten egg.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

  5. Cool & serve:

    • Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature
