Sausage Dipped Pancakes

Sausage Dipped Pancakes (often called pancake sausage bites or a DIY version of pancake on a stick) are a fun and delicious breakfast treat! They combine savory sausage with fluffy pancakes for a sweet-and-savory combo that’s easy to make and great for kids, brunches, or meal prep.


🥞 Sausage Dipped Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 10–12 cooked breakfast sausage links

  • 1 cup pancake mix (or homemade pancake batter)

  • ¾ cup milk (adjust per pancake mix instructions)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for flavor)

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

  • Cooking oil or spray

  • Maple syrup for dipping


Instructions:

  1. Cook the Sausages:

    • Fully cook the sausage links according to package instructions if using raw.

    • Let them cool slightly and pat dry with a paper towel if greasy.

  2. Prepare Pancake Batter:

    • In a bowl, mix the pancake mix, milk, egg, vanilla, and maple syrup until smooth. It should be slightly thicker than regular pancake batter to coat the sausages well.

  3. Heat a Skillet or Griddle:

    • Set it to medium heat and grease lightly with butter or non-stick spray.

  4. Dip & Cook:

    • Use toothpicks, small skewers, or your fingers to dip each sausage link into the pancake batter, ensuring it’s coated.

    • Place on the skillet and cook 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. Serve:

    • Remove and serve warm with maple syrup for dipping.


🧊 Make-Ahead Tips:

  • Freeze after cooking. Reheat in microwave or toaster oven.

  • Great for school mornings or meal prep!


🍴 Variations:

  • Use pork, chicken, turkey, or vegan sausages.

  • Add cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter for extra flavor.

  • Insert a small skewer or popsicle stick before dipping to make a “breakfast corndog.”
