πŸ‹ Lemon & Clove Mix – Secret Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 fresh lemons (organic is best)

  • 10–12 whole cloves

  • Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or a few drops of essential oil for extra aroma

  • 1 cup of water (if making a decoction)

Directions – Method 1: Decorative & Aromatic Infusion

This method is for making a fragrant natural decoration or air freshener.

  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly.

  2. Poke the lemons with whole cloves. You can do this by gently pressing the cloves into the lemon skin in a pattern (like polka dots or spirals).

    • Each lemon can hold 5–10 cloves depending on size.

  3. Place the clove-studded lemons in a bowl or on a decorative plate.

  4. Optionally, drizzle a tiny bit of honey over them to enhance fragrance and appearance.

  5. Keep the bowl in your living space, kitchen, or bedroom.

    • The aroma will naturally diffuse over a few days.

  6. Replace the lemons after 1–2 weeks for maximum freshness.

Directions – Method 2: Lemon-Clove Tea (Internal Use)

This is the method often touted for wellness benefits.

  1. Slice 1–2 lemons into thin rounds.

  2. Add the lemon slices and 6–8 cloves into 1 cup of boiling water.

  3. Cover and simmer on low heat for 5–10 minutes.

  4. Let it steep for another 5 minutes off the heat.

  5. Strain the liquid into a cup.

  6. Optional: Add a teaspoon of honey to taste.

  7. Drink warm, ideally on an empty stomach in the morning for a refreshing boost.

Secret Tips Nobody Always Tells You

  • The zest of the lemon contains more aromatic oils, so lightly scraping the peel before adding cloves intensifies the fragrance.

  • If you want a longer-lasting decorative mix, dry the clove-studded lemons in a cool, dry place. They can last months.

  • Lemon + clove aroma can repel some insects naturallyβ€”so this works as a gentle household hack.

  • For tea, adding a tiny pinch of ginger or cinnamon elevates both taste and health benefits.
