Here’s a restaurant-style detailed recipe for Garlic Butter Beef Bites with Creamy Mashed Potatoes – juicy, seared beef cubes coated in garlic butter served over silky mashed potatoes. 🥩🧄🥔

🥩 Garlic Butter Beef Bites with Creamy Mashed Potatoes

🛒 Ingredients

For the Beef Bites

  • 1 ½ lbs (700 g) beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

For the Creamy Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 lbs (900 g) Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature)

  • ½ cup heavy cream (or warm milk for lighter version)

  • ¼ cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

🔪 Instructions

Step 1: Make the Mashed Potatoes

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into even chunks.

  2. Place in a large pot, cover with cold salted water, and bring to a boil.

  3. Cook for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender.

  4. Drain and return potatoes to the pot.

  5. Mash until smooth (or use a ricer for extra silky texture).

  6. Stir in butter, warm cream, and sour cream until creamy.

  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.

Step 2: Cook the Beef Bites

  1. Pat the beef cubes dry with paper towels (this helps them sear nicely).

  2. Season generously with salt and black pepper.

  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and 1 tbsp butter.

  4. Once hot, add beef cubes in a single layer (do not overcrowd).

  5. Sear for 2 minutes per side until browned and medium-rare (cook longer if you prefer well-done). Remove and set aside.

  6. In the same pan, lower heat to medium, add remaining 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  7. Return beef bites to the skillet, toss in garlic butter, and sprinkle with chili flakes (optional) and fresh parsley.

Step 3: Assemble & Serve

  1. Spoon a generous portion of creamy mashed potatoes onto a plate.

  2. Top with garlic butter beef bites and drizzle extra garlic butter sauce from the pan.

  3. Garnish with more fresh parsley.

🍴 Serving Tips

  • Add roasted vegetables (like carrots, asparagus, or broccoli) on the side for a complete meal.

  • A drizzle of beef gravy over the potatoes makes it even more indulgent.

✨ Chef’s Tips

  • Use sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin for the juiciest beef bites.

  • For extra flavor, marinate beef cubes in olive oil, garlic, and rosemary for 30 minutes before cooking.

  • Keep mashed potatoes warm by covering the pot with a lid until ready to serve.
