CRISPY FRIED MUSHROOMS WITH COOL RANCH DIP

Here’s a delicious recipe for Crispy Fried Mushrooms with Cool Ranch Dip — perfect as a snack, appetizer, or party side!

 CRISPY FRIED MUSHROOMS

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225g) button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup cornstarch

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¾ cup cold sparkling water (adjust for consistency)

  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. Prep Mushrooms: Pat mushrooms dry with a paper towel. If large, cut them in half.

  2. Make Batter: In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and baking powder. Whisk in cold sparkling water until the batter is thick but smooth (like pancake batter).

  3. Heat Oil: Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).

  4. Fry: Dip mushrooms into the batter, letting excess drip off. Fry in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally until golden and crisp.

  5. Drain: Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Sprinkle lightly with salt while hot.

🥣 COOL RANCH DIP

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or white vinegar

  • 1 tsp dried dill

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: a splash of buttermilk for a thinner consistency

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk all dip ingredients together until smooth.

  2. Adjust seasoning to taste. Chill for at least 15 minutes before serving.

🍄 Serving Tip:

Serve crispy mushrooms hot with a generous side of the cool ranch dip. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.
