8 Strange Signs Your Body Might Be Warning You About Pancreatic Cancer

Posted on November 28, 2025

Here are 8 unusual or easily overlooked signs that can be associated with pancreatic cancer — but remember, these symptoms are not specific and often have many harmless causes. Still, if they persist, it’s important to get checked.

8 Strange Signs Your Body Might Be Warning You About Pancreatic Cancer

1. Unexpected Itching of the Skin

Persistent itching—especially without a rash—can happen when bile flow is blocked by a tumor, causing bile salts to build up under the skin.

2. Sudden Aversion to Certain Foods or Strong Smells

People sometimes notice new dislikes for fatty foods, fried foods, or even coffee due to changes in digestion or early nausea.

3. Light-Colored, Greasy, or Floating Stools

When the pancreas doesn’t release enough digestive enzymes, stools may become pale, greasy, foul-smelling, or float—a sign of fat malabsorption.

4. Sudden, Unexplained Blood Sugar Changes

New-onset diabetes, rapidly rising blood sugar, or sudden difficulty controlling diabetes may indicate a pancreatic issue.

5. Pain That Radiates to the Back

Pancreatic pain often starts as a dull ache in the upper abdomen and spreads to the back—worsening when lying down and improving when leaning forward.

6. Feeling Full Quickly (Early Satiety)

Even after small meals, you may feel overly full. This can happen if a tumor presses against nearby organs.

7. Unexplained Weight Loss

Weight loss without trying—especially if combined with appetite loss or digestive changes—is a common early warning sign.

8. Dark Urine

Even before jaundice appears, bile buildup can darken your urine to a tea-like color.

Important Note

These symptoms do not mean you have pancreatic cancer. Most are caused by less serious issues like gallbladder problems, stomach disorders, or even lifestyle factors.

But if you notice two or more of these symptoms persisting for several weeks, it’s worth consulting a doctor for evaluation.
